Snap a photo. Then just talk.
Pick a photo or video, then talk for up to two minutes about what happened. A question gets you started if you need one.
The idea
Most family albums save the photo. Ruckus saves the story.

Pick a photo or video, then talk for up to two minutes about what happened. A question gets you started if you need one.

Every story plays in the voice of the person who lived it, with every word written down underneath.

Grandparents, aunts, uncles, the whole family can love it, reply, or answer back by voice.
The little stories are usually the ones worth keeping.
Made for grandparents too
Big text when you want it, one tap to listen, and stories that need no photo at all, so Grandpa can join in too.

Why I'm building this
I'm Zac Coleman, and I'm building Ruckus by myself.
Here's the part that won't leave me alone: I have hundreds of photos of my family on my phone. I have almost none of their voices. Not the way my dad tells a story. Not the sound of my kid mispronouncing "spaghetti." Not my grandmother's laugh.
Photos remember what something looked like. Voices remember who someone actually was.
Ruckus is a private family memory app where every photo or video can carry a short voice story — the context, the joke, the tiny moment that made it matter. It's just for your family. No public feeds, no algorithms, no ads.
Ruckus is out now. Download it, invite your family, and tell me what's missing or still too hard — I read every message, and the app gets better because of what you tell me. If there's a voice in your family you'd hate to lose, start with theirs.

Private by design
Ruckus only works if you actually trust it. So here's exactly how it's built.
Ruckus has no public profiles, no discovery, no "for you" feed. The only people who see your memories are the family members you invite.
Voice recordings are stored privately in your family's space. Transcripts are generated for captions and search — nothing else. Your audio is never used to train AI models.
Children under 13 don't get their own accounts. They appear in a grown-up's memories, and there are no child profiles. Period.
Account deletion is built into the app from day one — not buried, not a support email. When you delete, your photos, videos, voices, and data are removed within 30 days.
