Acceptable Use Policy

Who Ruckus is for

Ruckus is a private space for families to capture and share their memories. These guidelines keep that space safe and welcoming for everyone you invite into your family group.

Be respectful

Treat the people in your family group with kindness. Don't use Ruckus to harass, threaten, bully, or demean anyone. Disagreements happen in families — keep them respectful.

Don't post harmful content

Don't upload illegal content, hate speech, sexually explicit material, graphic violence, or anything that exploits or endangers children. This is non-negotiable and will result in immediate account suspension.

Respect others' privacy

Only share photos, videos, and stories of people who are comfortable being included. Don't share another person's private information or memories outside your family group without their consent.

Keep your account secure

Don't share your login, impersonate others, or attempt to access family groups you weren't invited to. Don't try to break, overload, or reverse engineer the service.

No spam or misuse

Ruckus is not a platform for advertising, scams, or bulk messaging. Don't use the app to distribute malware or unsolicited promotional content.

Fair use

We provide the Products on the assumption that your use will be ordinary personal and family use, as described in the plan you signed up for. If your use is considered excessive, additional fees may be charged or capacity may be restricted.

We are opposed to all forms of abuse, discrimination, rights infringement, and any action that harms or disadvantages any group, individual, or resource. We expect you — and anyone you invite into your family group — to use the Products with the same intent.

Account accountability

You are responsible for your own actions and for the actions of anyone using the Products with your permission. This responsibility also applies to anyone using the Products on an unauthorized basis because you failed to put reasonable security measures in place.

By using the Products, you agree to ensure adherence to this policy on behalf of everyone in your family group. Complaints about the actions of an account holder or their family group members will be forwarded to the contact on file for that account.

If you — or anyone using the Products through your account — violate this policy, we reserve the right to terminate the affected Products or the account itself, or to take any remedial or preventative action we deem appropriate, without notice. To the extent permitted by law, no credit will be available for interruptions of service resulting from any violation of this policy.

Prohibited activity

Copyright infringement and access to unauthorized material

The Products must not be used to transmit, distribute, or store any material in violation of any applicable law. This includes but isn't limited to:

1. any material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property right used without proper authorization; and
2. any material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat, or violates export control laws.

You are solely responsible for all material you input, upload, disseminate, transmit, create, or publish through the Products, and for obtaining legal permission to use any works included in such material.

Spam and unauthorized message activity

The Products must not be used to send unsolicited bulk or commercial messages in violation of the laws and regulations applicable to your jurisdiction ("spam"). This includes but isn't limited to sending spam, soliciting customers from spam sent through other service providers, and collecting replies to spam sent through other service providers.

The Products must not be used to run unconfirmed mailing lists or telephone number lists ("messaging lists"). This includes subscribing email addresses or telephone numbers to any messaging list without the owner's permission, and storing any addresses or numbers subscribed in this way. All messaging lists run on or hosted by the Products must be confirmed opt-in, and verification of the owner's express permission must be available for the lifespan of the list.

We prohibit the use of email lists, telephone number lists, or databases purchased from third parties intended for spam or unconfirmed messaging list purposes on the Products. This section applies to messages sent using the Products, and to messages sent from any network by you or anyone on your behalf that directly or indirectly refer the recipient to content hosted on the Products.

Unethical, exploitative, and malicious activity

The Products must not be used to advertise, transmit, or otherwise make available any software, program, product, or service designed to violate this policy or the acceptable use policy of other service providers. This includes facilitating the means to send spam and the initiation of network sniffing, pinging, packet spoofing, flooding, mail-bombing, and denial-of-service attacks.

The Products must not be used to access any account or electronic resource that you do not own or are not authorized to access (for example, hacking, cracking, or phreaking), nor to intentionally or recklessly introduce viruses or malicious code into our Products and systems.

The Products must not be used to purposely engage in activities designed to harass another group or individual. Our definition of harassment includes but is not limited to denial-of-service attacks, hate speech, advocacy of racial or ethnic intolerance, and any activity intended to threaten, abuse, infringe upon the rights of, or discriminate against any group or individual.

Other activities considered unethical, exploitative, and malicious include:

1. obtaining (or attempting to obtain) services from us with the intent to avoid payment;
2. using our facilities to obtain (or attempt to obtain) services from another provider with the intent to avoid payment;
3. the unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction (or any attempt thereof) of any information about our users, by any means or device;
4. using our facilities to interfere with the use of our facilities and network by other users or authorized individuals;
5. publishing or transmitting any content or links that incite violence, depict a violent act, depict child pornography, or threaten anyone's health and safety;
6. any act or omission in violation of consumer protection laws and regulations;
7. any violation of a person's privacy.

The Products may not be used by any person or entity involved with — or suspected of involvement in — activities or causes relating to illegal gambling; terrorism; narcotics trafficking; arms trafficking; or the proliferation, development, design, manufacture, production, stockpiling, or use of nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons, weapons of mass destruction, or missiles; in each case including any affiliation with others who support such activities or causes.

Unauthorized use of Ruckus property

We prohibit the impersonation of Ruckus or Bitshouse LLC, the representation of a significant business relationship with us, or claims of ownership of any of our property (including the Products and our brand) for the purpose of fraudulently gaining service, custom, patronage, or user trust.

About this policy

This policy outlines a non-exclusive list of activities and intent we deem unacceptable and incompatible with our brand.

We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time by publishing the revised version on our website. The revised version will be effective from the earlier of:

• the date you use the Products after we publish the revised version on our website; or
• 30 days after we publish the revised version on our website.

Enforcement

We may warn, restrict, or remove accounts that violate this policy. Serious or repeated violations can result in permanent removal without notice. Enforcement decisions are made by Bitshouse LLC, which operates Ruckus.
